New Policy

Museum MACAN is reopening its doors. In line with government regulations, we need to ensure everyone’s safety as they enter our galleries and enjoy the exhibitions.

We want to make sure that we are taking the best care of you. We have enhanced health, hygiene, physical distancing rules as well as strict new entry protocols.
Please read through the information below before purchasing tickets and visiting.

Before Visiting

  • Plan your visit in advance and read through our new visiting protocols below.

  • Plan the day and time of your visit – entry will now be timed, with five (5) daily slots every Tuesday - Sunday. Come between the hours stated in your ticket, and you can spend as much time in the Museum for the day.

  • MACAN Society members, Patrons and Corporate Members and Education Members are also required to book visiting slots.

  • Book your tickets online, or through our ticketing partners (Traveloka | Tiket,com | Got-Tix | Klook). We will only provide onsite tickets in limited numbers

  • When buying tickets, you will be asked to provide some personal information. This information is for potential contract tracing if required. Please make sure your information is correct.

  • The Museum is working in collaboration with a third party supplier, VIDA Pass - a digital check in and check out system. You will have to register and provide personal information to VIDA Pass. Information about their system and privacy policies can be found here.

  • Museum MACAN is a face mask zone. Our visitors and staff must wear face masks at all times. The Museum does not provide complimentary masks.

  • Our Cloakroom will be closed. For your convenience while enjoying art in the gallery, we encourage you to bring a bag that is no larger than A4 paper or smaller.

  • If you have been feeling unwell prior to your visit, please consider planning to come at another time.


During Visit

  • Make sure you are well before making your way to the Museum. If you feel unwell, contact info@museummacan.org or send a WhatsApp message to us to reschedule your visit.

  • Be mindful of others and wear face masks at all times while visiting. We do not allow face masks to be taken off at any time – including for photo taking.


Arrival at Museum Lobby

  • When you arrive, you will be guided to Level 2 (Museum Lobby).

  • Use your face mask at all times during the visit.

  • At the Museum Lobby, you will be directed to the Ticketing Counter (if you haven’t pre-booked your tickets) or to Level M (Museum) if you have booked your tickets.


Entrance to Exhibition Area

  • On Level M, you will be undergoing a temperature check.

  • Scan a VIDA QR code for self-assessment while checking into the Museum.

  • Self-scan your ticket to enter the Gallery area.

  • We have digitized our Exhibition Guide for your convenience. Scan the QR code at the Gallery entrance to download your digital exhibition guide.

  • We provide hand sanitizer at the Public Area and hand soap in the toilet.


At the Gallery

  • While in the Gallery, maintain a 2-meter physical distance with other visitors.

  • No food or drinks are allowed inside the gallery. If you brought water bottles or food with you, please keep them safely in your bags.

  • If you need assistance during your visit, don’t hesitate to contact our security or museum assistant teams. They would be happy to help!


At the UOB Museum MACAN Children’s Art Space Commission: Color in Cave by Mit Jai Inn

  • A number of components of this installation have been modified to reduce physical engagement. For safety reasons, visitors are allowed to explore the Color in Cave installation within the Children’s Art Space, but interactive activities are not available for the time being. Please download our activities by scanning the QR code right outside the space.

  • All children must be accompanied by adults at all times.

  • A maximum of 5 visitors are allowed inside the space. In consideration of other visitors, visitors can stay in the space for a maximum of 15 minutes.

  • Please sanitize your hands using the provided sanitizer outside space before entering. We will be providing disposable gloves for all visitors before entering. The used gloves can be disposed in the dedicated bin when exiting the space.


After Visiting

  • Change your clothes and shower immediately after getting home.

  • If you feel sick, please visit the recommended medical facilities. The Museum will provide visitors’ data as requested by the local authorities.
